This past year, L&R Media formed a dynamic partnership with TriStar Health to produce a series of video overviews for each hospital in their network. The goal was to create introductory videos for each facility to feature on their website, showcasing each hospital’s unique strengths. Given the project’s scale, we needed an approach that would balance quality and cost-effectiveness while allowing for potential reuse of footage in other projects—an added benefit we’ve since maximized by repurposing content for several additional videos. Here’s what we did.
Standardizing for Success: The Templatized Approach
One of our first key decisions was to develop a templatized approach for each hospital overview. By standardizing the structure, tone, and visual approach of each video, we ensured a cohesive look and feel across all hospitals while streamlining the production process. This template-driven approach served several essential purposes, including:
- Consistency Across Locations: Having a common structure ensured the videos felt like part of a unified series, giving a polished, professional feel to TriStar’s brand. Each video shared a similar narrative arc, helping viewers recognize the brand while showcasing each hospital’s unique strengths.

In place of employee interviews, we opted to structure the videos around voiceover narration combined with dynamic visuals. This approach delivered two key advantages:
- Adaptability: Without employee interviews, which could quickly become outdated if staff changed roles or moved to other locations, the videos became more evergreen. If TriStar Health needs updates in the future, we can make straightforward edits to the script, re-record the voiceover, and update the visuals as needed, giving each video an extended shelf life.

Future-Proofing with Voiceover-Driven Narration
In place of employee interviews, we opted to structure the videos around voiceover narration combined with dynamic visuals. This approach delivered two key advantages:
- Adaptability: Without employee interviews, which could quickly become outdated if staff changed roles or moved to other locations, the videos became more evergreen. If TriStar Health needs updates in the future, we can make straightforward edits to the script, re-record the voiceover, and update the visuals as needed, giving each video an extended shelf life.
- Brand Stability: By avoiding direct employee involvement, we created videos that would remain relevant longer, aligning perfectly with TriStar Health’s needs. This technique has become a cornerstone of our approach for corporate video projects that require a long lifespan.
Expanding Content: Repurposing Footage for Additional Videos
One of the key benefits of this approach has been our ability to repurpose footage across multiple video projects for TriStar Health. For example:
- Recruitment Video for Parkridge: The b-roll footage we captured for Parkridge’s overview also fit seamlessly into a recruitment video, showcasing the hospital’s facilities and atmosphere without requiring new shoots.
- Trauma Center Video for Skyline: Similarly, the footage we captured for Skyline’s overview was reused in a trauma center video, where visuals of state-of-the-art facilities reinforced the hospital’s specialized capabilities.
Customizing for Each Hospital’s Strengths
While we standardized the structure, we worked with each hospital’s marketing director to develop a script that captured the facility’s unique qualities and services. This personalized each video, ensuring it still reflected the particular hospital’s strengths and accomplishments, whether in cardiology, emergency services, stroke care, oncology, or whatever they wished to highlight.
Efficient Production with Pre-Planning and Resource Sharing
Our efficient, templatized approach also simplified the production itself. With only one day scheduled at each hospital, we had to be meticulous with our planning. We worked with each hospital’s marketing director to create a workable schedule, allowing us to capture all essential shots needed to cover the script, maximizing our production days.
Another critical efficiency tactic was the ability to share footage across locations. For shots that weren’t necessarily unique to a specific hospital—such as surgical robots or imaging devices or hyperbaric chambers—we were able to use footage from other hospitals, saving time and production costs. We could focus on filming the elements that made each hospital distinctive, reducing redundancy and enhancing the unique aspects of each hospital’s story.
Achieving a Cost-Efficient, High-Quality Outcome
Ultimately, these strategies—templatizing the video structure, using voiceover for the messaging, carefully pre-planning the shoot days, and sharing footage across facilities—came together to produce a high-quality, cohesive video series for TriStar Health that is flexible and future proof. This scalable approach was a critical factor in our success, allowing us to deliver a powerful, customized video series efficiently and cost-effectively. The videos now serve as adaptable assets for TriStar Health, showcasing their hospitals with high-quality videos that can evolve as their services do.
